The Tech & Cloud Computing Summit marked the official launch of the CloudTech Tribe Awareness & Digital Empowerment Initiative. A vision born out of a desire to expose young people to the opportunities available in today's digital world.
Held on 26th April 2026, the seminar brought together over 110 youths, teenagers, and interested adults for an engaging session on technology, digital empowerment, and emerging career opportunities. Participants gained valuable insights into the relevance of technology, the growing impact of cloud computing, and practical pathways to get started in tech.
More than just a seminar, the event ignited curiosity, inspired new possibilities, and laid the foundation for the next phase of the initiative: the two-week foundational digital skills crash course.
Following the awareness seminar, a foundational crash-course training program was organized for interested participants. The training ran for six days across two weeks and was designed to provide practical exposure to essential digital and technology concepts.
The crash course covered the following areas:
Cybersecurity Basics: An overview of fundamental cybersecurity concepts, online safety practices, password security, phishing awareness, and methods for protecting personal and organizational data.
Internet and Cloud Computing Fundamentals: An introduction to how the internet works, core networking concepts, cloud computing principles, and the role of cloud services in modern technology and business operations.
Google Workspace Productivity Tools: Hands-on training on essential Google Workspace tools, including Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Meet, to improve digital collaboration, communication, and productivity.
Participants received both theoretical instruction and hands-on practical training, enabling them to apply the concepts learned in real-world scenarios.
The training was hosted at the Delta State Innovation Hub (Schoolville Academy), providing learners with an engaging environment for digital skills development and collaboration.
